Calos Grande Réserve Malbec 2022
“Named for the galets on the terraced vineyard that delivers this fruit, there’s a gentle earthiness to this Cahors that keeps it local, without the ripe, rich push toward internationalism. Some on the panel found it a little syrupy, like a "raspberry-Sherry gastrique." Others appreciated the wine's "exceptional balance" of spicy red fruit and stony acidity. It's lasting and comforting.”
